Mr Von Beach adds the finishing touches to his latest commission

Otto Von Beach :
His Remarkable Story

Born in 1857, Otto Von Beach enjoyed a successful career as an illustrator until his disappearance in 1896 while on an expedition to Siberia. Swept away by a freak uphill avalanche, Otto’s body would lie frozen in the Russian ice for the next 114 years.

Discovered by a passing dog walker on 13th March 2010, Otto’s remains were sent to Moscow for routine analysis. There, scientists were astonished to discover faint signs of life and immediate steps were taken to resuscitate him.

After a lengthy and painful period of thawing, Otto was restored to full health and reunited with his descendants. He currently shares a studio in Stamford, Lincolnshire, with his great-great-grandson and illustrator, Beach.

Otto has now resumed his career as an illustrator and is available once more for commissions.
